Different Color Friends

Written By:  Jasmine

White, black, and brown,

Walking around the town.

Never with a frown,

Despite problems, never falling down.

When together we're always glad,

Though people try to get us mad.

We lean on each other for everything,

To eachother we're angels without wings.

We'll be best friends forever,

Turn our backs on each other?  Never.

Even if people take us as clowns,

It'll always be us - white, black, and brown.

Rain

Written By:  Kalana Eason

God's tears

Drip drop

Against my window

I go to Enlightenment my name is Lyne,

I try to do good and make it each day.

Trying to do my best to make things right,

Even sometimes when I'm tempted to fight.

I stand out the most because I'm cool,

Going each day to Enlightenment School.

You Showed Me

Written By:  Louis Morales

Love used to be

At the back of my mind.

Dead and lifeless, like the

Sun without shine.

Then you came along,

Showed me love was

Beautiful - you brought me to

Life, so strong and spiritual!

Just enough rain, brings such pain

The hurt, the sorrow

The thoughts of no tomorrow

The urge to bust out in a flame,

Thinking of those specific names

This anger all inside -- one can see it in your eyes

Well, then the sun comes out, and shines no doubt

And you think, "What a beautiful day!"

For the time being, with that pain gone away.
